Each year, St. Renatus team members advocate for oral healthcare for children by attending and supporting the Project Smile Luncheon. The 9th annual luncheon was held April 15, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins, Colorado. Project Smile helps care for children in serious need of dental care and vision correction through in-school screenings. Once identified, needed treatments are conducted by local dental and vision professionals and a host of volunteers. According to Project Smile, the non-profit screens more than 1,200 school children each year, with approximately 25% needing immediate significant dental care and 75% needing major cleaning and sealants. Additionally, about 350 students need referrals for vision treatment.
St. Renatus’ philanthropic vision is to endorse proactive oral healthcare for adults and children on both the local and national level and to eventually aid in global healthcare efforts.
